Introduction

My name is Mrs Anisha Harrimohun, and I am excited to be your teacher. I have more than 9years of teaching experience in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, working with learners from Grade 1 to Grade 9. I am passionate about helping every learner succeed and believe that every child has unique talents and abilities. My teaching style is student-centred, engaging, and inclusive. This means that you are an active participant in your learning journey. I encourage learners to ask questions, think critically, solve problems, and work together to discover new ideas. I believe that learning should be meaningful, enjoyable, and connected to real-life experiences. In my classroom, I strive to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and confident to participate. I understand that every learner learns differently, so I use a variety of teaching methods and activities to help everyone achieve success. My lessons are effective because they are: Well-planned and organised. Interactive and engaging. Focused on understanding rather than memorising. Adapted to meet different learning needs. Connected to real-world situations. Supported by educational technology and hands-on activities. Designed to build confidence, independence, and critical-thinking skills. I believe that mistakes are part of learning and that effort, perseverance, and a positive attitude lead to success. My goal is to help you develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally, so that you become confident, responsible, and lifelong learners. Teaching experience

An accomplished educator and educational leader with over 9 years of teaching experience in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, combined with 22 years of management and administrative experience in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. Experienced in teaching learners from Grade 1 to Grade 9 across a variety of subjects, including Mathematics, English, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Technology, Life Orientation, Personal and Social Wellbeing, Creative Arts, and Physical Education. Currently serving as Acting Principal at Thornhill Christian College, leading the academic, operational, and strategic management of a school serving learners from Grade R to Grade 12. Promoted to Vice Principal in May 2026 and appointed as Acting Principal in June 2026, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities and commitment to school improvement. Notable Achievements Promoted to Vice Principal (May 2026) and subsequently appointed Acting Principal (June 2026). Successfully transitioned from classroom educator to school leadership while maintaining teaching responsibilities. Led curriculum monitoring, assessment quality assurance, and school improvement initiatives. Contributed to strengthening teaching and learning practices across Intermediate and Senior Phases. Gained valuable international teaching experience in the United Arab Emirates, teaching Mathematics in multicultural classrooms. Implemented educational technology, including Smart Boards, LMS platforms, Nearpod, Padlet, and digital assessment tools to enhance learner engagement. Developed and implemented CAPS-aligned lesson plans, assessments, intervention programmes, and examination processes.
